The American University men's and women's swimming and diving teams swept this week's Patriot League Awards with their strong performances against Howard. Joe Coronato and Dorothy Isaacs were named the PL Male and Female Swimmers of the Week while Michael O'Brien and Kelsey Monarch earned PL Male and Female Diver of the Week, conference officials announced Tuesday.

Both teams earned their first win of the year Friday against Howard University. The men's team won their side of the competition, 107-89, while the women's team won by a score of 119-80.

Coronato and O'Brien both recorded victories for the men's team. Coronato notched first-place finishes in the 100 free with a time of 46.79, and the 200 free in 1:47.26. O'Brien was the top diver of the meet, winning the one-meter competition with a score of 145.50.

Isaacs and Monarch also captured victories in their individual events Friday. Isaacs won the 100 breast, taking the top spot in a time of 1:10.54, and the 200 free, with a time of 2:14.91. Monarch recorded the highest one-meter diving score of all the female participants, registering a 200.55.

Both the AU men's and women's swimming and diving teams will return to action for an exhibition competition on Dec. 29 at the XV Cuidad de San Sebastian, in San Sebastian, Spain.
