An investment expert has commented on the popularity of Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt and the activities available there.

The resort of Sharm El Sheikh is an increasingly popular destination among travellers owing to the activities available there, and the diving opportunities in particular, according to BuyAssociation.

A spokesperson for the overseas property advice site described the diving in the Egyptian resort as "absolutely phenomenal".

Sharm El Sheikh is one of the top ten places in the world for underwater activities, partly owing to its natural structure, according to company spokesperson Paul Collins.

"The reef's quite shallow so you can dive and snorkel really easily. There are lots of good reef sites, national parks and other places to visit," he explained.

"There's a huge amount of wildlife and marine life that you can see. That's one of the reasons why Sharm became particularly popular in the first place."

Golf opportunities are also rising in popularity, Mr Collins said, with new courses currently being developed.
