Tens of thousands of scuba and outdoor enthusiasts from all over the UK will be flocking to the Go Diving! Show in Birmingham's NEC between 14 and 16 March 2008.
The 2008 British Underwater Image Festival (BUIF) is among many features at the three-day event and will showcase the best of underwater photography and film talent. The best 50 prints will be on display, while finalists in the film categories will be shown throughout the show on Friday Saturday and Sunday in the BUIF theatre.
Scuba manufacturers will be on hand to talk about their kit and show what's new on the market in a special area provided for the Scuba Industries Trade Association. There is also a try-dive pool for those wishing to persuade friends and family to have a go at scuba.
DIVE's editor Simon Rogerson, senior correspondent Charles Hood and British Society of Underwater Photographers chairman JP Trenque will be speaking at the show. Digital underwater compact photography experts Paul Duxfield and Maria Munn will also be offering advice to visitors.
DIVE magazine has a stand located at the BUIF theatre, where visitors can enter a competition to win a liveaboard trip to the Red Sea worth £1,190, courtesy of Tony Backhurst Scuba Travel.
A ticket to Go Diving! also gains you entry into The Ordnance Survey Outdoors show with exciting sections on everything from rambling to para-gliding. There are specialist areas on lots of exciting outdoor pursuits such as canoeing, mountaineering and biking.
Tickets are £16 at the door, £7 for children. Special family rates are available and children under five go free. For more information see http://www.theoutdoorsshow.co.uk
