The Hiram College swimming and diving teams recently returned from a week-and-a-half winter training trip to Jamaica this past week and look to set its sights on a successful second half of the 2007-08 season beginning tomorrow against the College of Wooster.

The Terrier swim teams left for Jamaica during the semester and holiday break on Dec. 27 and returned in time for the start of classes this past Monday (Jan. 7). While in Jamaica, Hiram not only spent the majority of its time training for the remainder of the 2007-08 season, but also had the chance to compete in a non-scored dual meet against the Jamaican National Team at their national facility.

"It was an overall valuable trip," said veteran Head Coach Jack Groselle said. "Our teams were able to get some invaluable training experience in addition to having the chance to go up against some live competition."

"Hiram was the first team to travel to Jamaica and compete against the national team in 20 years," added Groselle. "It was an amazing place to go and train and we look for our athletes topost some impressive performances during the remainder of the season."

The Terriers will look to do just that when they resume dual meet and North Coast Athletic Conference competition tomorrow (Friday, Jan. 11) when they host the College of Wooster at Alumni Memorial Pool. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
