news BY Malta Independent Online,

A Polish woman died some time after she found herself in difficulty while diving with a group of people in Dwejra, Gozo, at around 1pm yesterday, police said.

Her diving instructor helped her to reach the surface of the water, and she was taken to shore with the help of a boat which was in the vicinity. There were attempts to give the woman CPR until the ambulance arrived on location; however unfortunately this was to no avail and the woman was certified as dead.

Duty Magistrate Dr Paul Coppini LL.D. was informed of the case and an inquiry is currently under way.
