This calm and easy dive in a large bay is another one of Raja Ampat’s fantastic muck diving sites. It was named by two divers, Burt Jones and Maureen Shimlock, who were exploring the area around Batanta. They had nearly completed their exploration of the area and were going to go to another dive site as their last dive. Bad weather prevented them from doing so and so they came to this dive site. As they were so pleased with the diving here, they named the site Happy Ending to mark the end of their dive exploration trip.

Like the other muck dive sites in the area, it is a sheltered dive site but this site also has a small river that comes into the bay. This provides many organic nutrients and colder water for the smaller creatures to enjoy. The black sandy bottom is sloping and divers need to be able to navigate through the changing depths.

Divers will be able to spot many different types of nudibranchs including the famous so called solar powered Phyllodesmium nudibranchs. Divers should also expect to see many different shrimps, crabs, snake eels, crocodile fish, and small octopus. The site is filled with marine life and divers will be able to have a great dive exploring the area.
